On the one hand he was very very confident with his kind of music.
And this combination, because I have asked Michael once, about how everything was going with Hans Joachim, and he told me: he always had this spherical sense.
The combination was good, and Möbi always had his in a way peculiar and strange sound to add in his way.
They were working together for two or three years, this was when they were Cluster, they once played at documenta in Kassel, we went to see them.
We also held parties, Whitsunday parties, and once they played there on the stage back there on the lawn.
And there used to be Kraan here from the neighborhood, they also used to visit as well as Mani Neumeier, although he was rather a guest of Möbius.
That's another story, this combination, from Guru Guru and the guys.
Mani is also a strange guy, they played often together and we held many Whitsunday parties here in Forst and a lot of music was played.
"Die Dissidenten" also visited once, and that was beautiful, the weather was very warm and the stage was right in the middle of the farm.
It was beautifully organized with many artist groups.
That was Yärri again, our farm chief, he was still great, though.
The way he organized it was sensational, also in terms of food and drinks, it was exquisite.
And in the night, we really thought ourselves in Africa, with the music, it was really really beautiful.
I have to add, that Möbi didn't feel the stress in this sense, because he handles it differently, also regarding the past.
But he also went into the city once, because they didn't really have a livelihood, like Cluster for example.
They did have to go out into the world, from here, and start fresh.
Möbi, for example, had also met his wife Irene, he worked at the movies in the scenery department.
He never stopped making music, but his break-through came later In Achim's case it was exactly the same.
I think it was meant to be this way, I think he also had to start fresh somewhere else, to express himself and his music in the way that he wished.
At this moment, it didn't work together as well as it did before, after this period.
But it doesn't mean anything, because everything works again, at some point.
It's so beautiful here, it's incredible.
A long time before, they worked together, and after that Michael worked upstairs.
With his instruments in his living space, and from there he... Michael is somebody who works very precisely.
And very accurately, and concept-based and he overburdens himself often with his way of working, but that's just who he is.
Everybody was for themselves. They had shows together, but everybody prepared themselves alone.
For example Möbius, he was always very easy as he always had his little equipment and he didn't have to prepare as much.
He was different, it was in a way that was given to him.
That doesn't mean that Moebius was missing something, he also was a thoroughbred musician, but he had found a way that worked for him, that was in his nature.
And then he went on the road again, for several days... and he caught a cold on the Japan tour.
And he had to work so much, but he couldn't help doing but 100% that's just how he is for his music and subsequently also his success.
Moebius had a different approach, but when they were on stage together, they were somehow both equal.
There are people that are good at improvising, and there are people that have to prepare a lot.
Now everyone does his own thing. Achim lives his life in Austria.
Michael und Möbi, they also were Harmonia, they found a way to work together again in the end, thank God.
But in between, there was always tension at some points.
When it fits very well, then of course wives become also a factor, families are built and everything has its influence.
Life itself changes too and we experience new things, also in terms of how music can come together.
Things happen like this, one prepares himself more than the other... Möbi always stayed true to himself .
He needs very few things, but in the end and also during his Mallorca stays, he produced a lot of new material.
And then came Eno, right? And they did the big water.
It really fit the Zeitgeist.
I mean, he was also inspired by being here, and the mood of the people.
It was ultimately also stimulating.
And then they also did a beautiful thing.
He was also singing there.
That touched me the most.
I was also a few times in Austria, also with Möbi.
But they didn’t have such a good connection in the end.
And then you’re in between, because I like them.
Then there’s the wife and the other, it was always so difficult.
If they only had other wives, but they had these wives.
I also can’t say they were bad wives.
But without these wives it could maybe have been more relaxed.
No one’s like they have to go to the last ... one can also give in, give the right of way.
Or you can also lead things into a different direction, one can discuss things.
Actually everything is possible, if everybody takes part. If there’s only one, he’ll alway hit a wall.
In the early days we were also too impulsive and didn’t have the capabilitiy to solve
With Achim we were also ranting when we were amongst ourselves, he was of course also good at it!
But now he’s of course also different.
He could also get very upset!
But it’s also something that has to do with being young and reacting spontaneously.
We always had Gerri here, who addressed it, and then the others joined.
They knew each other from Norddo... Dodau, I think, that’s where they were in touch, also with the potter, and the musicians, Cluster.
And then they came here together and we also got to know each other, but then some things went awry, the initial conditions.
In the beginning everybody was easy, but then it had to be distributed differently. Everybody was like „this is the Rother house now“ and „this is Karin’s house now“.
But then it came out that only one was to sign the contract and whoever signed it also tried to use this to his advantage in times of conflict.
That’s how tensions arose.
Sub-contracts were supposed to be made.
But for example for Michael it was always his house that’s all on leasehold, even if someone else ...
Back then only one could sign the leasehold with the Braunschweig foundation, and everything else had to be dealt with amongst ourselves.
It would have been nice if we could have stayed here altogether. And the roots of this story.
And with this music.
Pity that Michael is not here.
Yes, but I’ll definitely come back again!
Yes, he’ll be happy. And he loves such pretty girls. He’ll probably like you.
He’ll probably like you very much.
